またまたいいんじゃない？

第6回ナパ・ソノマ飲み合宿で買い付けてきたナパのハウエルマウンテンエリアにある生産農家兼ワイナリーのNeal Family VineyardsのCabernet Sauvignon。

我が家の過酷な天然セラーでひと夏を越させたせいか（？）、ボルドーチックな印象を受けたテイスティング時と違って、重みと果実味とコクが絶妙にマッチした山カベそのもののお味が楽しめました～。

もちろん、イノシシくんとのペアリングも良かったのかもしれませんが、液体オンリーでも、お！これぞナパの山カベ！と自慢したくなるほどの1本！一緒に買い付けた１本も大化けでしたけど、こちらもまたまた大化けしてくれたCabernet Sauvignonだったのでした！

ちなみに、このボトルの重さ850g・・・。

歴代の買い付けワインの中でも最も重いかったかも・・・（汗）。

Note

The first development on this site was in 1984. We have planted and replanted this Atlas Peak vineyard over the years, at an elevation of 1450 feet. The lack of soil and volcanic rock required several loads of dynamite to prepare for planting. Typical of rocky, low vigor, mountain vineyards, we harvest fruit with amazing power and concentration. Our first ‘Certified Organic” crop was harvested in 2002.

Thanks to the volcanic soil (or lack of), Second Chance wines are consistently dark in color and contain intense characters. This year it’s a very dark, extracted wine with ripe fruit and a caramelized candy aroma. A very firm structure frames the ripe Cabernet flavors including cherry, smokey-oak and coffee.
