＊Jr.までつくことことに注意。 ロバート・パーカーとロバート・パーカーJr.は同一。
「あの有名なロバート・パーカーの息子なんじゃない？」という認識は間違い！
それから、アメリカの推理作家として有名なロバート・B・パーカーとも別人であり、この作家の息子でもないということ！
- 1947年、アメリカ合衆国メリーランド州ボルチモア生まれ。
- もともと、メリーランド大学で歴史と美術史を学んだ後、司法試験に合格したもののワインビジネス向けの雑誌を刊行（現在のWine Advocate）。
- Wine Advocateは、広告掲載がないそうで・・・その点は公平と言われている。
- 1982年のボルドーの赤の評価が素晴らしく良かったので、すごいと言われらしい・・・。
＜Rich&Fruity好き＞
俗に言うパーカーポイント（PP）は、基本的に彼の好み。彼は、フレッシュな果実香があり、濃い味わいのワインが好みらしく、長期熟成に向いた強いタンニンのあるワインや、繊細なワインを過小評価する傾向があるという（ここ大事）
カリフォルニアでも近年は、ロバート氏以外の担当者がポイントをつけることがあるので、PPとWA（WineAdvacate)を明確に表記しているワイナリーも少なくない。

2011年2月、ひざ痛などもありカリフォルニアの担当から外れるなどセミリタイアを発表した。
